Giving Gap is a donor platform launched in September 2020 to bring greater awareness to the disparities in funding for Black founded nonprofits. We help donors learn about and give to Black founded nonprofits and help close the racial equity gap in funding.
It began as a simple spreadsheet to respond to those seeking a way to support Black-led charities. Today, Giving Gap is a movement that complements the Buy Black movement. We are working to close our country's giving gap: Americans give $450 billion to charity each year, but less than 1% of that goes to Black organizations — and accordingly, Black communities.
