Announcing the Giving Gap Community Fund: A First-of-Its Kind Social Donor Advised Fund powered by Charityvest

The Fund will enable giving among friends and communities to further Giving Gap's mission to advance racial equity in charitable giving.

Washington D.C.August 02, 2023

Giving Gap, a free online platform of Black-founded nonprofits, has announced it is one of the first organizations to create a Community Fund, utilizing the new capability from Charityvest. This will unlock new ways for donors, advocates and supporters to collaborate around giving.

Charityvest, a provider of modern charitable giving accounts, or donor-advised funds (DAFs), has recently introduced Community Funds to enable any community to create tax-deductible, collaborative giving funds for any charitable purpose.

"We are excited to partner with Charityvest on this new offering," said Heather Infantry, Giving Gap CEO. "Community Funds are a great vehicle to shine a spotlight on Black nonprofits and are an easy way to bring us closer to closing the funding gap for these groups doing incredible work in their communities."

"We believe technology has the power to catalyze generosity by making giving more purposeful, accessible, and dynamic," stated Stephen Kump, CEO and co-founder of Charityvest. "We've built a modern donor-advised fund platform, and are now introducing Community Funds to enable more donors of all sizes and interests to pioneer a more engaging, enjoyable community-oriented approach to giving."
